What You Missed at Women in Business with Melissa O’Hara
April 18, 2024
After Hours Event at SIP Wine Bar
If you weren't able to join us for the latest Women in Business event hosted by the Greater Old Saybrook Chamber, here's a recap of what you missed out on!
Melissa O'Hara, of O'Hara Solutions Group, led a captivating discussion on "Mental Fitness: Growing the Three Core Muscles That Help You Thrive Even in Challenging Times." Attendees were treated to invaluable insights into Saboteur Interceptors, Sage for handling challenges, and Self-Commands for mastering inner dialogue. O'Hara delved into the nine Saboteurs that can hinder our progress. The Controller, Hyper-Achiever, Restless, Stickler, Pleaser, Hyper-Vigilant, Avoider, Victim, and Hyper-Rational. Understanding and addressing these inner critics is key to unlocking our full potential and achieving success by helping you become self aware.
But the evening didn't stop there. Derrik Kennedy, owner of SIP Wine Bar, hosted a mini wine class focused on rosé. With his expertise and passion for wine, attendees indulged in a delightful tasting experience while learning about the nuances of the delicious wine.
Overall, the atmosphere was vibrant with positive energy as women from across the community came together to network, learn, and grow. Nicole O'Connor of O'Connor Photography, summmed it up perfectly, saying:
"It was so nice to be with so many women who had such a positive energy! I absolutely loved the venue, very classy with delicious food and wine. I had a really great time."
If you couldn't make it to this event, don't worry! Stay tuned for future Women in Business gatherings because you won't want to have to read another blog post of what you missed.
Our next event is on May 23 at Penny Lane Pub for a luncheon with Suzanne McColl, discussing "Limiting Beliefs and Their Impact on Your Career." Register here to attend be part of this enriching experience!
